As a marionette, Blakely van de Buckle's nightly performance has captivated audiences for years. Now, however, the industrial revolution and the invention of steam power has forced him to adopt a new and improved show.
On the opening night, Blakely reveals his new steam-powered performance engine... But disaster strikes! Blakely's fantastic steam machine breaks down and explodes on it's opening night, and it's up to you to help him fix it! Will you be able to return the machine to it's former glory, or will you be booed off stage?
Blakely van de Buckle's Brass Cabaret - a unique puzzle game designed for Microsoft Windows based Personal Computers with Xbox 360 Controller accessories is due for release in December 2009! It's official unveiling was at the trade exhibition floor of the Game Connect Asia Pacific conference in Melbourne on the 7th of December.
I worked on the game team Powderkeg entertainment to create this game, which serves as our final project for university. It was shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Unsigned Independant Game category for the Game Connect Asia Pacific conference 2009, which took place December 6‐8 in Melbourne. Throughout the project, I have modeled, unwrapped and animated all of the game's environment artwork, as well as its introduction cinematic. I have also scheduled tasks, edited levels using xml, logged and fixed artwork bugs in the game.
The following are screenshots of various props from levels in the game. All textures, character art, and character animation are by Ellena Linden. Also on the page are embedded videos of the game's introduction cinematic, as well as gameplay footage.
